I am pleased to welcome you to the web site of Badenoch Riding Club. Our aim is to help members to improve their equestrian knowledge and skills by means of competitions and trainings and also to meet socially for all sorts of equestrian and non equestrian fun events. The club has been in existence for over 21 years and has gained a reputation for being friendly and welcoming. Members are encouraged to participate fully in the club's activities and "willing hands " are always welcome to assist in organising our programme of events.

As a club affiliated to the British Horse Society, the club's
members benefit from public liability insurance and the opportunity to take part in inter club competitions. We are part of Area 22 which takes in most clubs north of Perth. The club has regularly taken part in both Area competitions and inter area competitions which are held bi-annually at Scone, near Perth.
The club's year runs from September each year, with subscriptions payable annually at the Annual General Meeting which takes place in October. Over the winter months a programme of events is organised which includes mainly non riding events such as a video night, ten pin bowling, stable management evenings, road safety etc. Dependent on weather, a pleasure ride is held. From April to September is the competitive season for the club including Dressage, Show Jumping, Equitation Jumping, Dressage to music and a Summer Show. A fun day is also held which gives members a chance to try their hand at light hearted fun and games.
Visitors and new members need not feel nervous at entering the club's competitions as, although these are run in accordance with the accepted rules, novice riders are always made welcome. The club also runs training evenings throughout the summer months which offer novice competitors the chance to improve their skills before entering the competitions proper. These are also run in a friendly and informal fashion and are another opportunity to get to know other club members. A recent innovation is a club weekend camp which offers training and fun for all, with the chance to socialize with other members.
Competitions offer the chance to win some of the club's splendid rosettes or trophies which will enhance any one's mantelpiece! At the end of each year trophies are also awarded for the most points accumulated by each member in both riding and non riding events. They are open to all members.
The club is fortunate to have had the use in recent years of a show field at Alvie Estate by kind permission of Mr J. Williamson . Most mounted events are held here which gives a degree of stability to the club competitions and trainings.
All clubs have rules and a copy of the Constitution is included in this site. Junior membership is available from age 9 and senior membership from age 18. There is no upper limit!

Why not join us? A membership application is also included in this site.
